Understanding Weekly Summaries

Get a quick snapshot of what happened last week, what matters this week, and the top actions requiring attention.

1. Overview

Weekly Summaries help operators quickly understand what happened last week, what matters this week, and what requires attention now.

Finz automatically sends Weekly Summaries every Monday at 9:00 AM in the user’s local timezone. The same summary can also be accessed inside the platform from the Home tab.

The summary combines cash activity, margin performance, obligations, collections, and Signals into one weekly operating snapshot.

Operators commonly use Weekly Summaries to:

  • review cash movement from the prior week

  • identify upcoming cash pressure

  • monitor obligations and collections

  • prioritize operational follow-ups

  • understand what needs attention this week

Weekly Summaries are also connected to Signals, AI CFO insights, and Monday snapshot emails across Finz.

2. Opening the Weekly Summary

Weekly Summaries appear inside the Home tab and may also appear as a notification banner when a new summary becomes available.

There are multiple ways open the summary:

  1. Open Home from the left navigation

  2. Select View from the Weekly Summary banner at the top of the screen

  3. Open the Monday Weekly Summary email and select View Summary

The summary opens as a modal showing last week’s activity, upcoming obligations, and recommended actions.

3. Understanding Last Week Cash

The Last Week Cash section summarizes how cash moved during the prior week.

This section includes:

  • ending cash balance

  • total cash in

  • total cash out

Operators often use this section to quickly identify:

  • unusually high spend

  • slowing inflows

  • volatile cash movement

  • changes in operating rhythm

These values are based on actual observed activity from connected banking and accounting data.

4. Understanding This Week Obligations

The This Week Obligations section focuses on expected near-term cash pressure.

This section may include:

  • projected outflow

  • projected ending balance

  • AP due this week

  • expected collections

Finz uses Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), cash activity, and forecasted obligations to estimate what may impact cash during the current week.

Operators commonly review this section before payroll runs, rent payments, or large vendor obligations.

5. Understanding Last Week Margin

The Last Week Margin section summarizes operating performance from the prior week.

This section may include:

  • revenue

  • net profit

  • net margin

The goal is to help operators connect operational performance with cash movement, not just accounting totals.

These values are based on weekly operating finance calculations inside Finz.

6. Understanding Top Actions

The Top Actions section highlights the most important items requiring attention this week.

These actions are generated from Signals and ranked based on:

  • urgency

  • dollar impact

  • working capital relevance

  • operational risk

Examples may include:

  • overdue invoices

  • large upcoming outflows

  • payroll pressure

  • vendor payment risks

  • uncategorized transactions

  • collections delays

Finz is designed to surface actions automatically so operators do not need to manually review separate AP or AR reports.
